💎 Product Description
PDC Gauge Cutter 1308
Rock drilling oil drilling cutter drill bit cutting teeth 1308 3/4 PDC gauge cutter

PDC cutters are also named Polycrystalline Diamond Compact cutters, PDC bits, or PDC inserts. They consist of a Polycrystalline Diamond layer and a carbide substrate. The diamond is grown directly on the carbide substrate.

🛠️ How PDC Cutters are Made

PDC Cutters are made from tungsten carbide substrate and synthetic diamond grit. It is manufactured using a combination of high temperature and high pressure with a catalyst of cobalt alloy to help bond diamond and carbide during the sintering process. During the cooling process, the tungsten carbide shrinks at a rate 2.5 times faster than the diamond, which tightly combines Diamond and Tungsten Carbide together to form a PDC Cutter.

PDC Characteristics
🚀 Characteristics and Applications

Since PDC Cutters consist of diamond grit and tungsten carbide substrate, it combines the advantages of both materials: high abrasion resistance, high impact resistance, and high thermal stability.

Currently, PDC Cutters are widely applied to oilfield drilling, gas and geological exploration, coal mining, and many other drilling and milling applications. They are used in tools such as:

Steel PDC Drill Bits & Matrix PDC Drill Bits for oil drilling
Tri-cone PDC Drill Bits for coal mining
Geological bits and Diamond DTH bits
Diamond picks and geothermal energy drilling tools

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a PDC cutter?
PDC stands for Polycrystalline Diamond Compact. These cutters consist of a diamond layer bonded to a tungsten carbide substrate under extremely high pressure and temperature.
In which industries are PDC cutters used?
They are primarily used in oil and gas drilling, coal mining, geological exploration, and geothermal energy drilling due to their extreme hardness and durability.
What are the advantages of PDC cutters over traditional materials?
PDC cutters offer superior abrasion resistance, high impact strength, and excellent thermal stability, allowing for faster drilling rates and longer tool life.
How many types of PDC cutters are available?
Common types include Flat Top PDC buttons, Spherical Top buttons, and Spoon Shape drill bits, each designed for specific rock formations and drilling needs.
Can PDC cutters handle high temperatures?
Yes, they are engineered for high thermal stability, though the specific grade should be chosen based on the heat generated during the drilling process.
What is the standard packaging for these products?
PDC cutters are typically packed in firm cartons with internal protection to prevent damage during transport.
